Privacy Policy
Operated by Monelle Technologies Private Limited
Last Updated: 6 June 2026
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Monelle Technologies Private Limited (“Monelle Technologies”, “Hungryji”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal data when you use the Hungryji mobile applications and related services (collectively, the “Services”). For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), Monelle Technologies is the Data Fiduciary, and you are the Data Principal. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to handling your personal data lawfully, fairly and securely.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy. Where we rely on consent, that consent is sought separately through a clear affirmative action and may be withdrawn at any time.
We collect the following categories of personal data:
| Category | Data Collected | Purpose | Basis |
| Account / Identity | Name, phone number, email address, mailing/delivery address | Create and manage your account; deliver orders; provide support | Performance of contract / consent |
| Camera & Photos | Images you choose to upload (e.g. profile picture, cart images) | Enable the features you choose to use | Consent |
| Precise Location | Device location while using the app | Accurate delivery and nearby store/restaurant suggestions | Consent / contract |
| Background Location (Delivery Partner app only) | Continuous location while on duty | Real-time order tracking and assignment | Consent / contract |
| Device & Usage | OS, platform, device model, unique identifiers, device token, timezone, app usage | Security, diagnostics, fraud prevention, analytics | Legitimate use / consent |
| Transaction (limited) | Order details and payment status; masked/tokenised payment reference | Process orders and reconcile payments | Performance of contract |
We collect only the data necessary for the purposes described and request each permission (camera, photos, location, notifications) for its stated purpose only.
Hungryji requests access to your camera and photos for features such as uploading a profile picture or adding images to your cart. These permissions are used only for those purposes. We do not store or share your images without your explicit consent.
Location access enables accurate delivery and nearby store/restaurant suggestions. Your location is used solely for these purposes and is not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
The Hungryji Delivery Partner application requires continuous background location access while a delivery partner is on duty, to enable real-time order tracking and assignment. This data is used exclusively for these operational purposes.
With your permission, we send notifications about live order updates and offers. You can manage or disable notifications at any time in the app or device settings.
We automatically collect device information including operating system, platform, unique identifiers, device model, device token and timezone, for security, diagnostics and analytics.
Online payments on the Services are processed by our authorised payment aggregator, Razorpay. When you make a payment, your card, UPI or banking credentials are collected and processed directly by the payment aggregator on its PCI-DSS compliant systems. Hungryji does not collect or store your full card number, CVV or banking passwords. We receive only limited transaction data (such as order amount, payment status and a masked or tokenised reference) needed to confirm and reconcile your order.
Payment data is handled in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India’s directions, including requirements on data localisation and card tokenisation. The payment aggregator’s own privacy terms also apply to the payment data it processes.
We use the information we collect to:
Process and respond to your queries and complete your transactions;
Understand how users use the Services and improve and personalise our content and features;
Administer the Services, diagnose technical problems and ensure security and fraud prevention;
Generate and review aggregated reports and conduct research on usage patterns;
Provide customer support and send service-related communications about your account;
Carry out our obligations and enforce our rights under any contract with you, including billing and collection;
Notify you about changes to our Services; and
Any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection or for which you give consent.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as necessary with: Merchants and Delivery Partners to fulfil your order; our payment aggregator and other service providers (data processors) who act on our instructions under contract; and authorities or other parties where required by law or to protect our rights. Any processor we engage is bound by obligations consistent with this Policy and the DPDP Act.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it. Rights-related requests and the associated records may be retained for the minimum period required by applicable law.
We implement reasonable, industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction, and we review and update these measures periodically. In the event of a personal data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required under the DPDP Act and its rules.
Where we rely on consent, it is sought through a clear affirmative action, is specific to each purpose, and is not bundled. You may withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawal will be as easy as giving it. Withdrawing consent may limit your ability to use certain features. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
The Services are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that we have collected a child’s data without the required consent, we will delete it.
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
Access a summary of the personal data we process about you and how we process it;
Request correction, completion, updating or erasure of your personal data;
Withdraw consent previously given;
Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and
Grievance redressal in respect of our processing of your data.
You can exercise these rights, including deleting your account or data, directly within the Hungryji app, or by contacting us through the “Contact Us” channel. We will address grievances within the timelines prescribed under applicable law (and in any case within 90 days).
We may update or modify this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the app or other appropriate means. We recommend reviewing this Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
